Listening sessions on draft recommendation for bridge type

Public invited to provide comment
The Oregon Department of Transportation and Washington State Department of
Transportation provided the Oregon and Washington Governors a
draft recommendation for a deck truss bridge on Feb. 25, 2011. The
departments held two listening sessions to gather public comment on the draft
recommendation before making a final recommendation to the Governors:

The public sessions were hosted by
Henry Hewitt of Oregon and Steve Horenstein
of Washington, co-chairs of the
Project Sponsors Council, Matthew
Garrett, Director of the Oregon Department
of Transportation and Don Wagner, Columbia
River Crossing project director.
The draft recommendation followed a
Bridge Review Panel’s offering of three
bridge types for further review. See the
